Here we see two sources that interfere with one another. The amplitudes of the waves add together to create constructive or destructive interference. If the crest of one wave reaches a point at the same time as the crest of the other wave, the waves interference constructively; the wave is stronger there. If the crest of one wave meets the trough of the other wave, they interfere destructively; the wave is weaker there.
